Who should not use Kegel weights?
- If you have un-diagnosed pelvic/ lower abdominal pain
- Pain during micturition ( passing urine) or a bowel motion
- If you have a diagnosed prolapse. Your pelvic floor practitioner ( GP/physio/practice nurse), may be able to advise you of suitability if you have one diagnosed.
- When pregnant ( unless your gynaecologist or obstetrician advises)
- During menstruation ( Period )

They are colour coded to help remember your progress
They come in a discreet box and can be re-used numerous times. No external signage to show what the contents are the in the box after unpacking. Safe to leave in the bathroom cabinet
ALWAYS wash before and after use. Simple warm water with detergent ( such as hand wash ), rinse and pat dry with paper towel. Allow to dry before re-inserting onto the box. Wash the entire box once a month.
Water based, un-fragranced lubricant can be used sparingly to enable insertion. Do NOT use silicone based as this can damage the weights
Vaginal weights are just one tool used in pelvic floor muscle training.
Instructions
The general instructions for using vaginal weights are:
- Clean your hands.
- Start with the lightest weight. ( You can progress to the next level if you feel ready)
- Lubricate the weight for comfort with insertion.
- Insert the weight into the vaginal canal like you would a tampon.
- Determine the appropriate weight as the heaviest weight that you can hold while doing everyday activities without difficulty
- Hold the weight for 15 minutes, 1-2 times a day, 3-4 times a week for 8 weeks.
- Try to increase the weight every 7-14 days.
- Continue manual squeezes daily
